Computers in the Community
There are a number of IT groups in the community, facilitated by the Partnerships, which cater from those who have never used a computer before, to those to wish to intimately learn the ins and outs of computers.
Gurnos IT Group
For those interested in the inner workings of the computer, or looking to fix those awkward error messages which crop up, this group caters for all. Although many of members already have a working knowledge of computers, the novice is more than welcome to come along and learn the ropes with the help of others.

The Gurnos IT Group meet on Monday and Thursday, 10.30am - 12.30pm, at the Busy Bee Family Centre
Gurnos Web Design Group
Those attending the IT group also like to participate in the web design group, which looks to cater for those completely new to creating websites and uploading them to the internet, so that they can be shared with everyone. No prior knowledge of web design is required, and you could develop sites such as these to display your hard work:
Tony Hyde, Pictures of George Town
Nigel Scrivens Photography
The Gurnos Web Design group meet on Tuesdays,
from 10am - 12pm, at the Busy Bee Family Centre
The groups will continue to meet at 81 Honeysuckle Close, Gurnos, until March 2008, funded by The Welsh assembly’s Communities@One grant and supported by The 3Gs Development Trust.
Dowlais Beginners IT
New to computing? Look no further than our Beginners IT group, catering for those who have not used a computer before, or who have basic computer knowledge and wish to learn more. We have a range of online courses design to suit your knowledge of computing, and friendly facilitators on hand to give as much support as you need.
The Dowlais Beginners IT group meet on Wednesdays from 1.30pm - 3.30pm, at Gwernllywn Primary School
Hafal IT
For attendees of the Hafal mental health group, on Pant Industrial Estate, the Partnership facilitates computer coaching, tailored to individual needs.
